Kansas State senior Jacob Pullen was name to the AP All-American Third Team today after a magical season where he led the Wildcats to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Before the season, Pullen was added to the AP First Team All-American list after a stellar junior season, where he averaged 19.3 points and shot nearly 40 percent from three. His performance in 2009-10 alongside Denis Clemente landed the Wildcats in their first Elite Eight in decades.
Throughout his senior season, Pullen was criticized for his lack of leadership after Kansas State fell out of the polls in week 13. He received even more when the senior was suspended three games for receiving illegal benefits from a local department store.
After returning from suspension, Pullen went on a scoring rampage. That included his career-high 38 points over in-state rival Kansas, which was a game that started a string of six consecutive Wildcat victories.
In his final game of the year against Wisconsin, Pullen scored 38-points, which got him the school all-time scoring record. In his last press conference as a Wildcat, Pullen was very emotional after suffering defeat and failing to get his team to the Final Four.
Pullen averaged 20.2 points, 3.7 assist, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game in his final season.
