Wow. That’s all I can say after listening to the broadcast of the first half of the K-State/Alabama game. Never in my wildest dreams would I have suspected that the Wildcats would hold an 18-point halftime lead against a solid Alabama team on their own home court. Quite simply, the Wildcats are on a roll. They are shooting 57.1% from the floor and 45.5% from three, both of which are very respectable numbers. I can’t complain at all in the production from the line, either, where the Wildcats are 83.3%. Defensively, the Wildcats are holding Alabama to a dismal 29% from the floor and just 16.7% from three.
I don’t even know where to start when it comes to Jacob Pullen, who has already scored a whopping 20 points in the first half. He’s 7-9 from the floor and 5-7 from three. That is absolutely outstanding, especially when you recall the offensive spectacle he put on last week against UNLV (10-16 from the floor and 7-10 from three for a total of 28 points). I honestly don’t know how he does it anymore. Jake is just simply outstanding this year.
With several top 25 teams already having lost today, K-State could be in prime position to make a jump near the top 10 or top 15 in the polls with a convincing win tonight. Here’s hoping they can hold serve in the second half. I can’t wait to find out.
