Various Georgia Bulldogs websites are saying that current K-State defensive coordinator Vic Koenning may be the Bulldogs’ new defensive coordinator.

The 49-year-old, former K-State linebacker, transformed a defense that ranked 118th in total defense a year ago to 40th in his first year back in Manhattan. He improved the rush defense from 113th to 16th, the pass defense from 107th to 81st and moved the Wildcats from 111th to 47th in scoring defense.

Prior to joining Bill Snyder at K-State, Koenning served as Clemson’s DC from 2005 to 2008 where his defenses were ranked in the top 20 in total defense each year.

We should hear this week whether or not Koenning will be leaving Kansas State.
