Dalvin Warmack is an all-purpose back from Blue Springs High School (Missouri) from the class of 2014. He committed to Kansas State on March 5, 2013 and became the first athlete to make a pledge to the Wildcats for the ’14 class.

It has been a big week for Kansas State on the recruiting trail. On Monday Kansas State picked up a verbal commitment from JUCO All-American Martrell Spaight. The 6’1 220 pound linebacker will look to fill the massive shoes of departing senior Arthur Brown. The Wildcats also picked up a kicker in Matthew McCrane, an offensive lineman in Ajhane Brager, and a cornerback from the College of San Mateo, Nate Jackson. But the big news came today.

Matthew Atewe, a 6-9 power forward from Notre Dame Prep (MA), took a trip to Manhattan to take in the football game against North Texas and develop relationships with the basketball staff and learn about the program. “It was a lot of fun,” he said of his official visit. “I really enjoyed it.”

Last week, the Kansas State basketball program got better with a commitment from Hirschi (TX) guard Marcus Foster. As Kansas State begins a new week, the Wildcats also get another commitment. Assistant coach Alvin Brooks III helped bring in another talented prospect from the state of Texas.

After a long recruiting process, 2013 Hirschi (Tex.) combo guard Marcus Foster ended his recruitment. Foster was one of the first prospects that the new staff targeted with Alvin Brooks III being the lead recruiter. Foster came to K-State this weekend for an official visit with a college decision looming. The 6-3 guard narrowed his list down and planned to visit Creighton before making his decision. Monday morning came and he changed his mind. The scoring guard announced his commitment to Kansas State over Creighton.

After the live period, Kansas State narrowed down it’s recruiting targets and started to pursue the key prospects. Hirschi (Tex.) 6-2 shooting guard Marcus Foster was one of the prospects that the coaching staff recruited hard. During his recruitment, California, Lehigh, Oklahoma and SMU had offered him a scholarship, while Arizona State, Baylor, Missouri and Oklahoma State, among others showed interest. (more…)

The Kansas State Wildcats could be adding another member to the 2013 men’s basketball recruiting class fairly soon. Following the July live period, the Wildcats narrowed down its focus to a certain amount of players and some of them will be filling the stands this weekend when the ‘Cats take on Missouri State in football.
