Farewell to Jamar Samuels

Back in 2007, Jamar Samuels had committed to Kansas State during the Spring signing period but didn’t make it to campus until he completed the academic requirements. Once he finally got on campus after the fall semester, Samuels was redshirted and sat out while he developed his game. He wasn’t on scholarship at first but earned his spot at the beginning of the 2008-09 season.

K-State basketball 2011-12 season review

Not everyone expected the Kansas State Wildcats (22-11, 10-8) to be much of a contender this season. Kansas State was picked to finish sixth in the Big 12 by the coaches before the season and despite finishing close to that, the Wildcats proved to be a much better team in a stacked Big 12 Conference.

Kansas State falls short of Sweet 16

In his four appearances in the NCAA Tournament, Kansas State Wildcats (22-11) head coach Frank Martin has advanced to the Sweet 16 just one time. This season, the Wildcats hoped to change that, but the Syracuse Orange (33-2) had the last say so. Senior guard Scoop Jardine had 16 points, eight assist and five rebounds to lead Syracuse over Kansas State 75-59.

K-State seeks revenge against in-state rival

It almost feels like déjà vu for the Kansas State Wildcats (17-7, 6-6). Last year, the Wildcats were winners of their last two headed into a tough game against Colorado who had beaten them before earlier in the year. The Wildcats ended up losing the game and having many doubters as to whether they could make the tournament or not.
